TRIBE, a collaborative blockchain accelerator program between ICON, TRIVE, and PwC Singapore, has recently partnered with BMW Group Asia, Intel, and Nielsen to build an “inclusive” ecosystem “ready for industry 4.0″.

On December 3, 2018, ICON announced it’s partnership with TRIBE. TRIBE is the first blockchain accelerator with ties to Enterprise Singapore. Enterprise Singapore is the lead government agency responsible for developing the startup ecosystem and making Singapore a global hub for startups.

“Enterprise Singapore is the government agency championing enterprise development. We work with committed companies to build capabilities, innovate and internationalise. We also support the growth of Singapore as a hub for global trading and startups”.

It’s also important to note apart from strong ties to the Singaporean Government, ICON has also announced the Seoul Metropolitan Government testing its public blockchain. It just so happens, the head of the Seoul Metropolitan Government is a strong candidate for the presidency as well.

TRIVE and PwC Singapore’s Ventures Hub

On May 30, 2018, ICON announced a strategic partnership between TRIVE, a VC firm based in Singapore.

J.H. Kim, Foundation Council Member of ICON stated about the partnership:

“Singapore and Vietnam are at the center of blockchain innovation in Southeast Asia, and we are excited to work with TRIVE to further realise the full potential of blockchain in this region.”

Through TRIVE, ICON’s technological expertise and TRIVE’s regional network will be leveraged, and the two parties will be co-developing ICON focused blockchain courses to be taught through TRIVE’s programming schools, Upcode Academy Singapore, and Coder School Vietnam.

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), is the second largest accounting firm in terms of revenue and one of the “Big Four”. In 2018, PwC boasted $41.3 billion in revenue and has over 250,000 employees, making them one of the largest employers in the world.

PwC Singapore, a subsection of PwC Global based in Singapore, offers financial services through its “PwC Singapore’s Venture Hub“. PwC Singapore Ventures Hub is part of the collaborative program between the ICON Foundation and TRIVE to aid in its initiative with the blockchain accelerator TRIBE.

BMW Group Asia, Intel, and Nielsen

Recently, Coindesk put on an article detailing TRIBE’s new corporate partners with BMW Group Asia, Intel, and Nielsen.

Firstly, BMW Group Asia will be providing “masterclasses” to educate how blockchain solutions can be implemented in enterprises and provide mass-market solutions.

Carsten Sapia, Group IT and head of the Asia Pacific region, BMW Group Asia stated:

“We hope we can help each of these startups develop their proof-of-concepts and reach the next stage of their development.”

Secondly, Intel will seek to offer business and technical mentorship to startups.

Intel’s blockchain program director Michael Reed, stated:

“Intel technologies like Intel Xeon Scalable processors and Intel SGX can help improve privacy, security, and scalability of blockchain solutions.”

Lastly, Nielsen seeks to provide “a sandbox with the objective of providing participants with a safe, controlled environment to test new technologies and accelerate the adoption of their solutions.”
